چکیده

Melasma manifests as hyperpigmented macules and patches, usually affecting the face, neck, rarely upper limbs. This study evaluated comparative efficacy of a fractional CO2 laser with Q-Switched Nd:YAG in combination therapy tranexamic acid refractory melasma. A total 30 patients melasma were included this study. The (power: w, pulse energy: mJ, tip type: 300, rate: 100/cm2) was used on one side patients’ face three passes (QSNY) (Wavelength: 1064 nm, 750 fluence: 1.50 J/cm2, spot size: 4 mm × mm, hand piece: fractional) opposite same patient’s for six sessions. During course therapy, all received oral 250 mg twice daily. area severity index (MASI) score physician’s satisfaction analyzed. Thirty (mean age 39.97) included. Patient global assessment (PtGA) group significantly better than at 4th, 8th 12th weeks (p-value < 0.001). According to PtGA, improvement significant both groups over time. Efficacy of combination of fractional CO2 laser and tranexamic 5% gel in the treatment of melasma

Background and Aim: Melasma is a common disease affecting quality of life. Available treatments result in the gradual and partial clearance of melasma, and are accompanied with high risk of recurrence after discontinuing treatment. Tranexamic acid has been successfully evaluated in several studies. In addition, laser has been proposed as an enhanced drug delivery method. This study is designed ...

Clinical applications of Q-switched NdYAG laser.

682 infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Though all these lasers would have some effect on melanin, three wavelength bands are most useful for treating pigmented lesions – green, red, and infrared.[1] Its not only about the wavelength, it is more about the right pulse duration and at sufficient fluence. Since green and blue light lasers are long pulsed continuous waves, they cause a ...

Combined ultrapulse CO2 laser and Q-switched alexandrite laser compared with Q-switched alexandrite laser alone for refractory melasma: split-face design.

BACKGROUND : Melasma is common and can cause major psychological impact. To date, the mainstay of treatment, including various hypopigmenting agents and chemical peels, is ineffective and can cause adverse effects. Laser is a new approach and is yet to be explored for its efficacy and safety. OBJECTIVE : To compare combined Ultrapulse CO2 laser and Q-switched alexandrite laser (QSAL) with QSA...

Treatment of Melasma with a Q-Switched 1064nm Laser

Melasma is a pigmentary disorder that is characterized by poorly defined, dark brown macules on sun exposed areas, such as the face, back, and arms. This hyperpigmentation condition affects millions of people worldwide, the majority of whom are women. In the United States alone, it is estimated to affect over 6 million people, including up to 40% of the US female population1. Melasma is more pr...
